Jim Pellegrino, Woodwinds
Jim Pellegrino, born in Plainfield, NJ started his musical studies at the age of nine. At the age of fourteen was a member of the NJ All-State Band on saxophone. Mr. Pellegrino is a graduate of Kean University where he received his Bachelor of Music degree and also plays clarinet, flute and oboe as well.
Mr. Pellegrino has studied classical music with such notables as John Wion (New York City Opera) Harold Bennett (Philadelphia Orchestra) and Englebert Brenner (New York Philharmonic) and has performed with many orchestras in the New York and Metropolitan area.
He has also studied jazz with jazz greats, Frank Foster (Count Basie Band) John Stubblefield (McCoy Tyner Band) and Jimmy Heath (saxophonist) and has worked with Ray Charles, Temptations, Rosemary Clooney, Harry Leahey, Andy McCloud, Eddie Gladen, Henny Youngman, John Orr and Bob Cunningham just to name a few. His performances include:
