Kevin Flaherty is a graduate of the University of Delaware, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. While studying under Dr. John David Smith, Mr. Flaherty was a French horn player in the UD Horn Studio, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. He was also a four-year member of the Fightin’ Blue Hen Marching Band under Heidi I. Sarver, serving for three years as a Drum Major.
Before teaching at Manasquan Music & Dance Academy, Mr. Flaherty spent time as a director with the Westminster Presbyterian Church Children’s Choir, assistant camp director with the UD Community Music School summer camp program, and an intern with the George Parks Drum Major Academy. He most recently accepted a position as a drill writer for Highland Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps. He has performance experience with horn, classical and jazz trumpet, piano and voice.
